General information about the role of the employee:
The task of this position is to provide support on key security threats as part of the ongoing program activities in the North and Northeast of the Security and Access Division, in close cooperation with the logistics and program teams.
The Security Officer will provide real-time tracking of the vehicles of the drivers/PIN employees carrying out the program activities and provide ongoing up-to-date information on the exact location and movement of the drivers/PIN employees.
The Security Specialist will actively work with teams working in high-risk areas and ensure that teams are properly instructed, trained, and equipped.
The safety specialist must monitor the current development of the security situation in the drivers/PIN personnel travel areas. In the event of a major security incident, the Security Officer will work closely with the Head of Security and Access and the Security Manager and the Crisis/Incident Management team, using an expert assessment of the context as well as PIN procedures and principles.
The Security Officer will conduct a personal security assessment of the areas (current and potential) where the PIN operates, including high-risk areas as well as PIN premises.
The Security Specialist will be actively involved in updating PIN security management plans, key security policies, and protocols. The security specialist will also be actively involved in scenario planning and forecasting and the creation of security reports and other relevant analytical products.
A security specialist will be able to work independently with a focus on results in a large and diverse team with the ability to perform several tasks at the same time. A security professional must demonstrate analytical skills, able to work accurately, professionally and with respect for anyone, regardless of nationality, ethnic origin, gender, religion or cultural background.

Approximately 40% of working time is field trips in the North and North-East of Ukraine, mainly Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

Relevant certificates and courses in safety management (mine hazard education, first aid, HEAT, etc.).
Work experience
At least 2 years in the NGO sector - experience related to security and/or risk management, programs, logistics.
English

- Provide accurate tracking of the movement of PIN commands in real time and participate in the planning of routes/movements.
- Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of national and regional developments in a security context.
- Provide regular operational updates to drivers/PIN personnel on current/anticipated threats/hazards to ensure route optimization.
- Participate in the creation of a humanitarian access strategy (humanitarian notification, obtaining permits for access to the region, etc.).
- Create and maintain a network of relevant stakeholders, including NGOs, local partners, law enforcement, authorities, etc. Liaise with similar players in the industry, including external security companies and service providers. If necessary, provide them with advice on relevant safety-related work moments.
- Participate in the creation of security reports, scenario planning and forecasting of the development of the security situation in the region.
- Take part in reviewing the safety management plan and safety protocols related to medical evacuation, hibernation, evacuation, and relocation of PIN personnel.
- Ensure that PIN personnel operate in accordance with safety protocols, help identify security needs.
- Conduct security assessments of PIN areas of operations and PIN premises in the north and northeast with regular field visits (at least 40% of working hours).
- Ensure timely replenishment of safety equipment for teams, vehicles, premises, including first aid kits, personal protective equipment, fire safety equipment, communication, medical equipment, etc.
- Prepare teams for trips to high-risk areas, including training and instruction on safety protocols, movement procedures, mine awareness awareness, etc.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
- Collect and report incident information with due care, delicacy and confidentiality.
- Remain available to staff in the event of an incident or other request for support required in a security context, be proactive in case a security need is identified.
- Assist in crisis/incident response where needed.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including donors, partner organizations, medical institutions, authorities, law enforcement agencies, etc.
