General information about the role of the employee:
The Security Operations Specialist ensures the creation and daily operation of the Security Operations Room (Ops Room) PIN. The position focuses on real-time monitoring, analysis, and security coordination across Ukraine, with a particular focus on frontline, high-risk, and fast-changing operating environments.
The position involves part-time employment with rotation, given the high cognitive level of workload, the need for constant concentration and intensive work with dynamic security information. The specialist provides continuous situational awareness, supports the safe movement of personnel and assets, and facilitates timely decision-making by management and operational teams.

Education and Certifications
Higher education in the field of security, international relations, political science, humanities or related areas. Equivalent practical experience is possible.
Work experience
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in one or more areas:
Level - intermediate (Intermediate).

1. Safety monitoring and situational awareness
Continuous monitoring of the security situation in Ukraine with a focus on:
- frontline dynamics
- red zones and high-risk areas
- Unstable territories
- Military events and changes on the front line
- kinetic incidents (shelling, missile strikes, UAV activity)
- access restrictions, checkpoints, curfews, restrictions on movement
- Maintaining an up-to-date operational security picture for internal use.
- Real-Time Tracking:
- movement of personnel (field teams, visitors, temporary staff)
- movement of vehicles and their routes
- movement of goods and humanitarian supplies
- Monitoring compliance with approved relocation plans and safety procedures.
- Immediately inform the relevant colleague of the security department or responsible person about deviations, delays or new risks.
- Incident response support, including:
- prompt personnel counting after incidents
- checking the security situation and location of employees
- Timely and accurate incident logging
- Keeping incident logs and maintaining post-incident documentation.
- Summarizing information from various sources (OSINT, internal reports, partner messages).
- Prepare concise security updates, warnings, and summaries for:
- Safety Guides
- Mission Leadership
- Relevant Operations Teams
- Acting as a communication hub between field teams, the security department, and operations units during active monitoring.
- Escalating critical issues according to established protocols.
- Providing clear, calm and accurate communication under pressure.
- Support for Ops Room tools, trackers, and dashboards.
- Ensuring the accuracy of data entry and proper information hygiene.
- Participate in the improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Ops Room workflows.
- Support security risk assessment and movement planning tailored to the current situation.
- Participation in postoperative examinations and analysis of lessons learned from incidents.
- Reinforcement of the team during escalations, serious incidents or periods of increased risk.
- Ensuring high-quality transfer of shifts and information between rotating officers for continuity of work.
Requirements for the candidate:
Education and Certifications
Higher education in the field of security, international relations, political science, humanities or related areas. Equivalent practical experience is possible.
Work experience
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in one or more areas:
- Work in NGOs or international organizations in security-related positions;
- Operations centers or security monitoring;
- Humanitarian missions in conflict or high-risk situations;
- Analysis, monitoring or coordination in volatile situations;
- Experience in dealing with security issues specific to Ukraine will be a big plus.
Level - intermediate (Intermediate).
Professional and technical skills
- Ability to quickly navigate situations and analytical thinking.
- Ability to process a large amount of information and highlight the essentials.
- Calm and structured decision-making under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills - written and oral.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and getting things done.
- Ability to work independently during monitoring shifts, adhering to command structures.
- Clear transfer of responsibilities between shifts.
- Tools for tracking incidents and movements (Excel, Google Sheets or special platforms);
- GPS trackers (for staff or transport);
- Cartographic services (Google Maps, GIS platforms, live map layers);
- Secure communication channels (Signal, WhatsApp, Teams, etc.);
- OSINT and monitoring sources (Telegram channels, notifications, open panels);
- Internal reporting and document management systems.

- Ability to find solutions to problems and tasks
- Part-time, rotating schedule with a second Ops Room employee (50%).
- The job involves spending extended periods of time at a computer and interacting with security-related content.
- Irregular hours are possible during crisis situations or escalations.
- Psychological stability and awareness of the need for self-care are important.
- Competitive salary on the PIN salary scale of EUR 6.5 per hour (before taxes) during the probationary period + 5% after the probationary period;
